Description of Work: Full-time, permanent Telecommunicator I position with Hoke County Emergency Communications Department. 12-hour shifts required on rotating schedule.
General Statement of Duties: Responsible for handling the Emergency 911 radio system, and proper dispatch of emergency personnel.
Desirable Experience and Training: Applicants should be High School graduate or equivalent; 6-12 months of Public Safety experience; good typing skills; excellent communications skills; able to develop good working relationship with the public. Applicants must have a valid NC driver’s license and a good driving record. Applicants will be subject to a criminal and driving history background check. Successful candidate will be subject to drug/alcohol testing. Applicants will be required to take a Telecommunicator basic skills test. Applicants chosen to advance to this level will be contacted by the Emergency Communications Department to make an appointment for this test. Applicants will be chosen for interviews from those having taken the basic skills test.

Salary: Grade 65 $33,816.00 annually plus benefits
